Super-clean and complete LinnDrum (LM2) from 1984, freshly overhauled and ready to go.

Another tidy package here for drum machine enthusiasts and collectors, and this one needed all the typical stuff when it came in. This machine performs beautifully and I'm very pleased with how it turned out. It received the following:

- full electrolytic recap

- auxiliary power supply board refurbishment (this is also for the memory and patch saving and is 100% of the time corroded and damaged by battery leakage). cleaned, traces cleaned, removable battery compartment installed. working perfectly!

- ZIF sockets added to 7 voices (toms, congas, bass drum, snare, and claps). this is for ease of changing EPROM chips for different sounds.

- all push buttons opened and cleaned

- all volume and tuning pots cleaned. tuning pots are known to get wonky over time, but these are working great.

- all 32 sliders removed, disassembled, cleaned, and rebuilt (this is extremely important).

- factory presets reloaded

I can't stress this detail enough when it comes to LinnDrums: if the sliders have not had the aforementioned work performed, then they are faulty. If they aren't completely faulty, then they are noisy and unreliable, at best. You cannot spray DeOxit in them and expect them to work properly after 40 years -- they don't work that way. It is crazy to me to see how much this particular detail is left out of other LinnDrum's for sale on the market. It's a long, tedious job to do it - about 15 hours. It's an under-appreciated aspect of servicing these, but the volume and panning slider performance goes from a 3-wheel, rusted-out Station Wagon to a Rolls Royce. Why does that matter? Because the faultiness of the sliders gets into the voices and playback. Replacements do not exist. You can decide however much that means to you, but if it was me in the market for a turn-key LinnDrum, I'm not touching it without that taken care of.

Includes original box, user manual, power cable, and pre-set cassettes. I haven't tested the cassettes because I don't have a cassette player and that method of restoring songs and presets is inferior to modern methods.
